A bit about me...

Hey, Y’all! I am Teresa Thompson. But, those closest to me just call me T, and I couldn’t be any happier to have you here!

A bit about me…

First thing to know about me is that I am a daughter to the King. The second thing to know, is that I am the wife of almost 25 years to Tom, a momma to an angel baby, dog mom to Coonie, and the owner/baker at my own little at-home-based bakery, Sweet Tooth Confections.

Tom & I live on a small farm where we have a couple of horses and a small herd of cows.  I also have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, a few chickens, and some barn cats.

Life has changed for us a few times in recent years.  Something you often hear Christians refer to as “seasons of life” comes to mind.  If you look around my blog from when it was begun in 2021 you will see, we were in a season of traveling and camping.  Then, you will notice large spans of time when there are no posts.  That was during a season of life when I was a caregiver to my elderly parents. Now, we are in a new season. One where my dad has passed on and my 92-year-old mom lives in an assisted living facility, but I am still the one responsible for her in many ways.  It’s both an honor to be available for her as she needs me but also can be a stressful time in life.

Although the original purpose behind the creation of this blog was to share our travels, you will also notice within my posts that I do not shy away from expressing my love of the Lord, where I find Him or the lessons and revelations He has shared with me.  Through the last few years my relationship with Jesus has become an increasingly higher priority in my life. The more I realized how much I needed Him in my daily life, the more I realized I also needed to get to know Him better.  After all, He knew me before He ever formed me (Jeremiah 1:5).  How could I ever grow into who He made me to be if I didn’t take the time to get know Him, to understand His heart?!  So, as I’ve been learning, listening and growing I’ve been hearing the Lord calling me back to my blog.  He has impressed on me how I need to share my life and what I’ve learned; that it is not just for me but for others to learn from in their own way.  Maybe something I share is exactly what you went through or are currently going through.  Or, maybe you will be able to relate in your own personal way.  My hope with each post is that the Lord uses me to share the words He would have me to so that they, too, will speak to you.  I pray that my lessons will become your lessons.  I know that likely will not happen with everything that I share.  But I pray that the ones intended for you will find you when you need them most.  I pray the Lord will bless you as He has me, that you will be encouraged to grow in your own walk with Him.
