Welcome to my blog, y’all!

I am so excited to be here and more so, for Y’ALL to be here! This blog has been a dream of mine for some time now. It was one of those things that kinda frightened me…I mean, who in the world would want to hear what I have to say?! What can I add to the world of blogging that someone else hasn’t already added? Well….the Lord started whispering in my ear “there’s only ONE you!”.  So, I started the research process.  I quickly became overwhelmed by the amount of differing information available about starting a blog. HOLY COW, did the doubt and frustration start to creep in.  But, as my husband always does, he encouraged me to push on.  So, here I am!  And, if you are reading this…HELLO!  Thank you so much for being here!

My intentions for this blog are multi-layered.  The main reason being that I have yearned to get back into writing for many years.  I wasn’t the best student in school, but I did seem to be drawn to words….my Elementary school teachers likely wished I wasn’t so much since I always got “talks too much” marked on my report cards.  Haha!  Seriously, though, English was the one subject I seemed to excel in.  So, as I got into my early teens, I began to write short stories just for myself.  It was an escape of sorts for me, a way to express myself when I didn’t feel I could speak the words I needed to anyone.  Maybe I’ll hit on that more sometime down the line….  Anyhow, by high school I was quite involved with our school newspaper, even becoming Editor.  I also worked at our small hometown newspaper for a time when I was 16.  In college, the only writing I did was for required assignments.  Since then I would only come back to my writing in rare occasions when I needed an outlet to release thoughts/feelings/emotions, but still keep them to myself.  That is until fairly recent times.  The urge to write again began to call out to me.  I began to need that type of creative outlet in my life again, and to share it. That’s the first reason. 

The second reason is a way of sharing our camping travels.  It’s a blessing to see and experience different areas for ourselves, but it’s an even greater blessing when I get to share those experiences.  We tend to choose places that most may not.  Although I love the beach, it’s not what centers around the chosen location of our trip.  Not to say we don’t like the more “touristy” vacation locations, but we do tend to navigate towards the less obvious attractions within those areas.  So, sharing our trips is a goal of this blog.  I plan to share what we see/do, where we eat/stay, and any tips/tricks along the way that we may pick up.  I am SUPER excited about seeing where this part of my blog takes us.  Adventure awaits!!

The third, and final, reason for this blog is a rather selfish one.  I hope to find therapeutic healing in my own words. I have found that when I am upset or having intense feelings, that writing it down helps me to see/understand/think more clearly.  Also, by sharing some of my life experiences, general thoughts on life & how I have overcome some of what life has thrown at me (and am still working to overcome in some situations, I might add), I hope I may help others deal with or see their own life experiences in a different, more positive way.  Time will tell, I suppose.

So, if you have made it this far….HURRAY for YOU!!!  And, also, THANK YOU!  Thank you for sticking with me as I figure this blogging thing out, and I certainly hope you’ll be sticking it out with me….maybe even be inspired along the way in one form or another.  Maybe….just maybe!  Regardless, I am happy you are here…happy you stopped by & hope to “see” you again soon!
